Back to School Tips

Updated: Sep 18, 2020

Hey Loves,

Since most of us are going back to school online next year, we wanted to make a post to help everyone out! We are going to share our personal tips that have helped make school so much easier! We hope you like these ideas and let us know if you try them out!

1.) Get dressed in the morning

Even though you don't physically have to go somewhere, it still is a good habit to get dressed in the morning. It makes you feel more awake and less lazy. We try to do this almost every day and we think you should too.

2.) Drink lots of water

When we drink cold water we feel more awake and less sleepy. I (Emma) try to drink water as soon as I wake up. If you're not into drinking caffeine this is a great tip!!

3.) Don’t lounge around during zoom calls!

In order to stay engaged and not bored during calls, you should try and find a stop where you can sit up and fully focus. This will help you stay focused throughout the day!

4.)Take breaks to do something creative

Being on electronics all day is really bad for our brains… so in order to handle all the screen time we like to take breaks to do something else. I (Emma) like to do my bullet journal or practice dance combos for dance class!

5.) Stay in contact with friends over facetime/phone calls (if possible)

It’s really hard to be away from friends for long periods of time! Aliyah and I love to facetime and do homework or work on the blog together! It’s of course not the same as seeing each other in person, but it's better than anything!

6.) Zoom hack (read below)

Keep one notes page (either on your phone or on paper) with all your zoom codes and passwords. This makes it easier to quickly sign on to your zoom classes without having to search through google classroom.

7.) KEEP A PLANNER!

Especially with online school, it's hard to keep track of everything. We love keeping a log of everything we need to do! Our school uses google classroom so sometimes it's hard to know what needs to be turned in for what class. When on zoom calls we write down what we have to do in our planner right then. This way we won't forget what the teacher said, and in case something isn't in google classroom we have it right there!!

8.) Stick to a schedule

If you make a schedule and stick to it school will feel a little more normal, and you’ll feel obligated to stay on task. Also you won’t have to find yourself doing schoolwork at a time when your friends want to FaceTime or you should be eating dinner.

Comment what other back to school posts you want to see! If you're still here, comment “online school!!”

Xoxo,

Aliyah and Emma
